Statement
“ A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder”-
Thomas Carlyle
I agree with this statement, without a rudder a ship cannot
be propelled this can be compared to a man without a goal, the man cannot propel
himself in any direction. The rudder represents navigational stability, a man
without goals wanders endlessly through life at a rather slow pace, he has
nothing to expect of himself and no motivation that can ensue propulsion. The
rudder is an important part of a ship, if a rudder malfunctions the ship cannot
propel itself properly, and therefore a man cannot navigate, propel, or compose
himself without a goal. A ship without a rudder cannot sustain stability, such
as a man without goals cannot maintain stability within his life. Propulsion is
ensued through stimulation from the ships power source and the helmsman. A man
without goals has been deprived of a purpose and a motivation and therefore
cannot complete or formulate goals, he is left wandering desperately through
and endless stretch of sea, with no goals to provide buoyancy or navigation.
