Cross Country: My favorite sport

           Cross Country: My favorite sport

I have recently joined the cross country team with in my schools i was rather exciting since i have been running seriously for about 3 years, my fascination with running started when i was Ten years old during my physical education class when we ran the mile, i was astonished that i was the first one(the second person was my twin Carlos), and i realized that i enjoyed distance running so i proceed to practice and improve. My school did not have a cross country team so i decided to train. During winter and spring vacations my older brother who is attending university visited us and we accompanied him to run in our local park, we ran about 3-4 miles every day, during these instances my running improved dramatically. When i joined the cross country team with in our school i was intimidated by my older teammates i thought that i would not be able to finish a race in first place, during our first practice i finished  in first place with my twin behind me. During the subsequent practice i have been challenged due to the longer distances and the obstacles that are placed(Stairs and obstacle courses), but these challenges has allowed my fascination with running to expand. I have also improved drastically and i am very thankful for the opportunity that i have been given to run for the cross country team within my school, i also immensely appreciate my two running partners my twin and my older brother.

Summary and Reflection

              Summary and Reflection

Tony Farmer a top recruited basketball star was sentenced to prison upon several third and second degree felonies. He in total was sentenced to three years in prison and five years in the vigilance of the law and the local police. The felonies included domestic violence, intimidation through threatening messages, and attempted kidnapping. During the court hearing the basketball star was distraught, his family was shocked and distraught.

                             Reflection

I cannot believe the actions this student had committed  why would he waste three years of his life and his education? I thank the judicial system for their defensive actions upon the community. I am very disappointed at the populace who has committed crimes. This child has had his freedom and education taken from him due to his improper conduct, his actions have not allowed him to flourish with in his selected field of endeavor and i express the rather minuscule amount of sympathy i may hold for this once proud student who has severed his own ties to society.

Summary and reflection

                             Summary

The olympic Race Walker Alex Shwazer was banned from the London Olympic Games due to his use of performance enhancers, Alex Shwazer had previously recieved the gold medal for the 50km race walking competition. The italian held a very emotional press conference stating he was glad to have been caught utilizing illegal substances. Alex Shwazers medals were taken from him, thus leaving him with a barren landscape in which no success manifests itself.

                            Reflection

I am outraged by the large number of atheletes that have used illegal substances. I believe atheletes use illegal substance due to their lack of ability or their lack of confidence. My opinion upon every form of cheating is "a person who cheats either lacks the ability or confidence and therefore expresses incapability and poor judgment." Why would he use illegal substances, all a person must do is train intensly and better themselves, an individual can nevre justify cheating, but he can exhibit incapability. Why would any individual consider such a deplorable action, i am horrified that the atheletes who utilize performance enhancers are atheletes who are idolized.

Summary and Reflection

                 Summary and Reflection

  1. Today we have read an article, the article's topic focused on a child who was imprisoned within a bathroom for six years by her grandparents, the child was only allowed to have contact outside when she went to her academic institution. The child was first imprisoned within the restroom at the age of three. The couple who had imprisoned her have been in police custody since January 27 2013, they are being faced with several charges that can imprison them for at least 20 years. It was stated by the law enforcement that the living conditions of the child were deplorable, she was fed irregularly and was only given a cot and a blanket to sleep with. The motives behind the imprisoment are not clear "there is no viable explination." says dayton Sgt. Larry Trophlin.
  2. These grandparents are deplorable individuals, why would they raise a child with in these conditions? These grandparents should be kept in prison for a very long time for their inhumane crime. The child may suffer from mal nutrition and several psychological problems that pretain to social and external interaction, i am deeply saddened by these crimes and i hope no child would have to experience this torture.

Summary and Reflection

                    Summary Reflection

An elderly man returned money he had claimed to have stolen from a sears in Seattle, Washington. It was said the man walked in to the sears and traversed onto the second floor, he then proceeded to  hand the sears envelope that carried a letter explaining his crime and a one hundred dollar compensation. The customers reacted by exclaiming "awesome, an act of kindness.

Reflection: This was a kind act.The man must have suffered for many years harboring that guilt, but now he can relieve himself. I now know guilt can constrict around the mind and allow neurological connections to react to such an event for a long time therefore imprinting the event into your memory. I am glad the man had attempted to relieve his guilt. I  believe any miniscule crime can result in the feeling that constricts around your mind and results in powerful reactions known as guilt.

Summary and reflection:video

                Summary and Reflection

Summary:At the start of the video we are prsented with words such as honesty, integrity, respect, ethics, and courage. It then presents a question What is the greatest human challenge? the answer is given and it states "living by our beliefs." The video then presents us with the definitions of every word that was given to us in the begining of the video. The videos text is accompinied by inspirational music and pictures that represent the text.
Reflection: This was a mesmerizing piece of media that presented a proper topic and enlightened my thoughts. The words that were presented built a foundation from which the question arose. We all live and behave through the stimulation of certain beliefs, an example may be an individual who believes in respect, we then expect that individual to respect the populace around him or her. These words presented stimulated my thought, the question presented to me was rather easy to interpret, the humans who are uncommited cannot implement their beliefs upon their lives or even manifest any beliefs.
