Summary and reflection: The olympic performer's rise and fall

                             Summary

Olympic track and field star Marion Jones won 5 medals during the 2000 olympic games. The reputation that Marion had constructed was demolished in 2007 when she was standing outside of a federal courthouse, after the discovery that she had used performance enhancers during her olympic career, only after Marion have fiercely denied her use of performance enhancers. Marion was sub-sequently stripped of her medals and her freedom when she was sentenced for six months in prison.

                           Reflection

I believe Marion has demolished a reputation that she had obtained through lies and deception. I even question if her reputation was viable at all. She has disrupted atheletic ethics and disgraced the olympic community. One of the aspects that repulses me is her deception, she had denyed the use of performance enhancers to the federal institutions, i believe the action deserves severe punishment. I ask why had she harbored such guilt? How had she felt when she accepted the medals knowing she was accepting the medals through false effort? Marion jones is a disgrace to the olympic community and atheletics.

"To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice."-confucius
I agree with this quote, when an individual acknowledges what is the proper action is with in that paticular scenario and refuses to take part with in the correct action is a the worst cowardice. We are taught what is right and wrong from experience, but when we experience the same scenario again, you would expect everyone to initiate a proper action right? Well individuals who exhibit cowardice believe the must express neglectance to ward a proper action. Once that individual has experienced a  predicament in which they do not understand what is the correct or incorrect action and they participate in the incorrect action they will either learn to choose the correct action later in life or they cannot fully comprehend or have contradictory views and sxhibit neglectance and cowardice by repeatedly choosing the incorrect action while being aware of the severity of their problem.

"Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his/her choices."-Albert A. Montapert
I agree with this statement, we will never be able to escape the consequences that accompany our actions. When our judgement is shrouded by a motivation we act and ignore the consequences that will accompany our actions. At that moment we are only focused on the compensation that we will recieve from the participation upon such an action. No one ever escape the consequences of his or her action, actions manifest consequences. Consequences either benefit the individual or corrupt the individual.
