Online learning can be a powerful, stimulating, and engaging
experience for a student who can work or think independently. However since
most or not all learning takes place during independent excursion, you would not
have access to the intuitive environment that is the classroom. Online learning
requires a significant effort and commitment from you. All education is described

The effort you are willing to invest in the experience- this
is particularly true in the in the online environment. Commitment, self-
discipline, self-motivation, are all keys qualities to ensure the success of an
individual in an online course.

confident with written communication.
Reading and writing are the bases of many online courses, so
it is critical that you feel comfortable with this form of communication. While
some courses contain modules that include videos or other activities, all of
them require significant amount amounts of reading. And nearly all your
communication exploitations with your classmates and your instructor(s) will be
in written format. If you find communication through writing irrational, you
would want to address these issues before enrolling or while enrolled in an
online course. The PSU Writing Center is available to assist you.
